One more month to go...

April has flown by and that happened because there were plenty of activities during this past month.

In the middle of the month I had the pleasure of celebrating the union of two of my good friends here in Vienna. The bride was originally from Germany, the groom was from the USA, they met in Vienna but they were married in Hungary; crazy international wedding. I loved being able to see the differences between European weddings and North American but this wedding did have a bit of American flare.

At the end of April I flew over to Scotland to explore the place of my ancestors.  Scotland was my number one country I wanted to visit and I figured since I was in Europe I should make time to go.  I loved going and it was the first trip of many to Scotland.  I stayed in Edinburgh for 2 nights, Oban, a small seashore town for 2 and then one night on the Isle of Colonsay-an Island with an average population of 96.

As one of the Scots put it, I have a whistle-stop tour of Scotland-short but sweet. Some of the highlights were having people pronounce my name properly, hearing the Scottish accent, drinking good tea, great weather, eating seafood, being outdoors in the barren, beauty of Scotland and hearing bagpipes in the streets of Edinburgh.

I love how a landscape so simple can be beautiful

Soccer at Neulengbach is going well.  I can't believe that I have only 4 more games and then my soccer playing in Austria is done. Right now my team sits at the top of the league which means if we win the rest of our games we will be the Champions of the League.

During the month of May in my SBUX Bible study my co-leader and I will be finishing studying Our Identity in Christ.  We are still looking for a new leader to replace me when I leave.  Furthermore, organizing the Unity Dinners for the leaders of the studies is still fun.  Sadly my last Unity Dinner will be May 25th and I am going to miss serving with the great community of the SBUX ministry when I head home.

I can hardly believe I have less than a month here in Vienna. I am going to miss living here but I am excited to see what God has for me in my next step in life.

Prayer Request:

1) Winding things down in Vienna

2) Finish strong with soccer

3) Be able to say farewell to everyone who has impacted me during my time here in Vienna

4) Find a new Leader for SBUX Bible study

5) Find time to enjoy my last month here

6) Be able to process what happened these last two years and look forward to what’s next

Thanks for the prayers and support,

All for God, Gillian
